Summer is a great time to get your toddler out of the house and into a room full of other little ones. Contra Costa libraries and local programs make it easy — and free — to find your people.

Are these events really free?
Most library storytimes and drop-in programs are completely free. No registration needed — just show up a few minutes early to snag a good spot on the rug.
What age is 'toddler' for these programs?
Most toddler storytimes welcome ages 1–3, while preschool programs stretch to 5. Lapsit storytimes are best for babies and very young toddlers with a caregiver.
Which day has the most options?
Thursdays are packed — multiple libraries run simultaneous storytimes, so you can almost always find one close to home.
Can I just drop in, or do I need to register?
Most library drop-ins need no registration. Check the library's website if you're unsure — a few special programs do fill up fast.
